Xiaomi vs Samsung in India
The top selling phone of Xiaomi, Redmi 5A shipped over 3.2 million units where Samsung's top seller Galaxy J2 Pro shipped over 2.3 million units.
Now to compete with Xiaomi Samsung focused on it's budget phones, specially on budget camera technology. They added Portrait Dolly and Background Blur Shape on their devices like the Galaxy J8. As a result Samsung has seen an annual growth of 50 percent in India (according to Canalys's Q2 2018 report) gaining a market share of 30 percent. On the other side Xiaomi has doubled their shipment in Q2 2018 in India with a market share of 30 percent equaling Samsung.
Asus is another successful brand in India. Asus's shipment has been tripled in Q2 2018 compared to Q1 2018. This may be for the Zenfone Max Pro M1.
Apple has seen a 50 percent drop in shipment volume this quarter.
