Honor 9N

Honor has launched 9N which is the predecessor of 9 Lite.

Display: 5.84 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080*2280 (19:9) and ~432 ppi.
Chip-set: HiSilicon Kirin 659 with Mali T830 MP2 GPU.
Variants: 64/128 GB ROM along with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM along with 3 GB RAM.
OS: EMUI 8.0 on top of Android 8.0 (Oreo).
Cameras: Dual rear cameras 13 MP (PDAF) and 2 MP (Depth Sensor) and 16 MP front camera.
Battery: 3000 mAh.
Price: 11999 (32 GB ROM along with 3 GB RAM) and 13999-17999 Rupee (64/128 GB ROM along with 4 GB RAM).

Design: The phone is nicely built. There is glass in front and back and a metal frame around the sides. The camera set up is placed horizontally with a LED flash like the iPhone 7 Plus. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the back. As the edges of the phone is rounded and due to the bezel-less design, the phone fits the hand nicely and its comfortable to use the phone with one hand.

Display: The display is good enough to please your eyes and comes with a notch. The colour reproduction is good, viewing angle is wide enough and the display has a good readability in both indoors and outdoors. Besides the display comes with features like reading mode.

Performance: We have seen that Huawei's own processor, HiSilicon performs really well. No exception in this phone again. Kirin 659 can be easily compared with Snapdragon 625. Along with 3 or 4 GB RAM and EMUI 8.0, the performance of the phone is very good in day to day uses and in gaming too.

Cameras: The cameras of 9N is nice again. The front camera specially takes some nice and sharp pictures (you can take the shot without beauty mode to get sharp images). The background blur feature works really well. The edges don't get blur. The main camera is good overall. The setup takes sharp images but it misses colours sometime. The bokeh mode or portrait mode works pretty well. Besides the camera app is cool. It got a pro mode for both photo and video. There is a AR lens mode, a light painting mode (which can attract many peoples who take lot of photos with their device) and many more.

Battery: Although the size of the battery is 3000 mAh, it will last one day of moderate use. There is several battery saving modes along with an ultra power saving mode. Besides you can reduce the resolution of the display to save the battery although you have to compromise on the overall experience for that.

Special Features:
1. There is Face Unlock Feature.
2. The audio quality is impressive in the phone. Although you need to use a good pair of headphones for that.
3. There is a Ride Mode which turns off the Bluetooth and other connections and automatically replies to your phone calls or messages with messages or voice mails (as you choose) while you are driving.

Overall Honor 9N is a good choice looking at the price. It got a set of cameras, pretty impressive performance, some handy features and a good battery life. Although you can find more options at that price.

The phone will be available on Flipkart from 12:00 noon, 31st July. You can buy for yourself following the link.
