Google I/O 2017

Image
Google I/O held from May 17-19 this year. Google announced a lot of things this year too. I'm noting down the best 6 announcements that Google did. Let's start. 1. Android Go: I think the biggest announcement of Google I/O 2017 was the announcement of Android Go, a lite weight Android OS for low end phones. It's looking better than the Android One project. In Android Go the OS is so lite that it can run smoothly on a phone having just 512 MB or 1 GB of RAM. The apps will be optimised to run smoothly & they will not be more than 10 MB. For India it's going to be a great deal. It's much like YouTube Go app that launched in India to save mobile data few months back. 2. Android O: Google I/O isn't Google I/O without the announcement of new version of Android. Google announced their new version of Android i.e. Android O and told about it's features. Meizu launched their new flagship. Where Samsung, LG, HTC like companies launch their flagships at much higher price, there OnePlus, Xiaomi, Meizu like companies launch their flagships at much lower price without compromising on quality. Pro 6 Plus is not exception, it's a quality flagship at much lower price. Meizu Pro 6 Plus Display:  5.7 inch 4K display with 1440×2560 resolution (515 ppi). SOC:  Samsung Exynos 8890. RAM:  4 GB. Memory:  64/128 GB internal & not expandable. Camera:  12 MP rear camera (f/2.0 with 4-axis OIS) & 5 MP front camera (f/2.0). Battery:  3400  mAh. Price:  ₹29999 for 64 GB version & ₹31999 for 128 GB version. Design: Where the main focus of other Chinese manufacturers is on specifications, there Meizu focusses on primiumness. When you see Meizu Pro 6 Plus, you will realise how precisely it's built. Details is everywhere, from power button to the 10 LED dual tone flash. They used softer metal than the metals used in other p

Xiaomi Redmi 4

Image
Xiaomi launched the Redmi 4 in India in 3 versions. But they doesn't named it as Redmi 4, 4A & 4 Prime as in China. Let go through the specifications first. Redmi 4 Display:  5.0 inch Full HD display with 720×1080 resolution (296 ppi). SOC:  Qualcomm Snapdragon 435. RAM:  2/3/4 GB. Memory:  16/32/64 GB internal & expandable upto 128 GB. Camera:  13 MP rear camera (f/2.0) & 5 MP front camera (f/2.0). Battery: 4100 mAh. Price:  ₹6999 (2 GB RAM version), ₹8999 (3 GB RAM version) & ₹10999 (4 GB RAM version). Design: Redmi 4 improved from it's predecessor in about every aspect as well as design department. The edges now taper more to give you a nice grip. The speakers are at buttom which I think better than placing it on back. There is a fingerprint sensor on back which I think is the best place for a fingerprint. And last but not the least a 2.5D curved front panel. So, overall Redmi 4 is more premium looking metal finish device than Redmi 3.

HTC U11

HTC launched their new flagship U11. It's going to be a true flagship from HTC for 2017. As the flagships of previous year from HTC, U Ultra & U Play wasn't that much good against it's rivals; U11 is looking pretty great. Let's check out the specifications first. HTC U11 Display:  5.5 inch 4K Super LCD 5 display with 1440×2560 resolution (534 ppi) & Corning Gorilla Glass 5. SOC:  Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. RAM:  4/6 GB. Memory:  64 GB internal & expandable upto 256 GB. Camera:  12 UP rear camera (f/1.7) & 16 MP front camera. Battery:  300 0  mAh. Price:  ₹53000. Now let's go through some details. Design: It's a big change in HTC's design language for years on U11. Rather than a full metal finish U11 sports a liquid design language, i.e. metal and glass finish. There are curved edges all over the edges. The phone looks really pretty. Performance: It's the first phone to ship with Snapdragon 835 world wide (Samsung Gal

The 12 core version is expected to be launched in August where other versions can be launched in June. The price can be expected to be really high, can be ₹64999 for the 12 core version.
