Best apps of 2017

Image
You will find millions of app in Google Play Store (3.3 million on September, 2017). But this includes some good as well as some not so good apps. I'm going to suggest some apps that you can give a try. Hope those will be useful and fun to use. Socratic: If you ask me which is the best educational app in the Play Store, I'll definitely answer it's Socratic. This app is very useful as you can snap a picture of a math problem, Socratic will analise it with it's own AI & will give you the answer. Yes, it's like the app PhotoMath. But unlike PhotoMath Socratic can help you in various subjects including Science, History, Economics and even English. Just point Socratic over the problem or question and let Socratic answer you. It has already solved over 100 million questions and counting. Holo: Augmented Reality was limited to Google's Project Tango phones before. But now with Holo it's available for any smartphones now. You can capture a phot

Top 3 Innovations in Smartphone Industry, 2017

Image
Every year the smartphone industry improving with lots of innovation. Probably this is the fastest improving industry area of this decade. Let's discuss about best 3 of them. eSIM: It's really a headache for international travellers for travelling with different physical SIMs while traveling in different countries. But eSIM can be a solution to this. Although it's been invented in 2016 but introduced to consumers with the launch of Google & Apple's Pixel 2 & 2 Plus and iPhone X accordingly in 2017. The can not be removed. But the advantage is that you can switch your carrier with just few taps on your smartphone. Although this technology isn't available that much yet (It's only available for Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 Plus users only if they sign up for Google Fi), you can expect more phones with both Nano SIM and eSIM support in 2018. Display with 18:9 Aspect Ratio: Smartphones with 18.9 aspect ratio got a lot of popularity in 2017. Altho

OnePlus 5T

Image
At last OnePlus launched a phone which feels like a 2017 phone. OnePlus 5T is definitely one of the best phones out there in that price point. Let's go through the specifications first. Display: 6.01 inch LTPS IPS LCD Full HD display with 1080×2160 resolution (18:9 aspect ratio & 401 ppi) with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. RAM: 6/8 GB. Memory: 64/128 GB internal. Camera:  Dual rear cameras (20 MP & 16 MP) & 16 MP front camera. Battery:  3300  mAh. Price: ₹32999 . Display and Design: The first change you will notice just after looking at the phone is it's display. It's that almost bezelless 18:9 aspect ratio display which feels a 2017 phone. The panel is Full Optic AMOLED display. The outdoor visibility is really great. But you will notice rainbow colour when looking at the display from steep angle which is a downside of the display. Design wise that metal unibody looks and feels great in hand. The fingerpri

Honor 7X

Huawei launched the new Honor 7X. As Huawei is the #3 mobile brand in the world you can expect brand value from this phone too. Let's go through the specifications first. Display:  5.93 inch LTPS IPS LCD Full HD display with 1080×2160 resolution (18:9 aspect ratio & 407 ppi). Processor: HiSilicon Kirin 659. RAM: 4 GB. Memory: 32/64/128 GB internal and expandable upto 256 GB. Camera:  Dual rear cameras (16 MP & 2 MP) & 8 MP front camera. Battery:  3340  mAh. Price: Not declared yet. Will be around ₹11000- ₹13000. Design & Display: The design of Honor 7X is really eye pleasing. Metal unibody design always looks good. The display (Honor Fullview Display) with 18:9 aspect ratio is really so good. Colour reproduction is good and sunlight readability is outstanding. You get the large display of 5.93 inch but with a very little compromise on the dimension (6.16 inch over 5.94 inch along the length) of the phone over 6X. The fingerprint sensor is in it&#

iPhone X

Image
Unlock your iPhone by just a glance. Say hello to the future, iPhone X (iPhone 10) from Apple. Let's go through the specifications first. Display:  5.8 inch Super Ratina Display with 1125×2436 resolution (~458 ppi). Processor: Apple A11 Bionic. RAM: 3 GB. Memory:  64/256 GB internal. Camera:  Dual 12 MP rear cameras (f/1.8 & f/2.4) & 7 MP front camera (f/2.2). Battery: 2716 mAh. Price: ₹125000. Design: For iPhone X, the device is the display as the new smartphone trend is going on. It's glass (Apple claiming it's the most durable glass on any phone) on the back this time to make the phone water resistant and for wireless charging. For the frame it's surgical grade stainless steel. The front of the phone looks a bit odd to me for the front unsymmetrical bezel. Even the back of iPhone 8 Plus looks better than the iPhone X in my opinion. But build quality is great and 'the device is the display' tag is welcome. No Home button, the new

Star Wars Hotel by Disney

Image
Disney is about to open a Immersive Star Wars Hotel. They talked about it in the middle of D23 expo in Los Angeles. Although the information about this project is so short now, a brief information is: 1. Every guest will get a story line. 2. All the employees in the Hotel will be in Star Wars costume & as well as in a character. 3. Hotel rooms will look like a space ship. Each window will show space outside. The thought is that guests will get travel on a spaceship & will have an adventure all day long. Lucas-film approved this for Disney & Disney imagineers are making it damn cool! Every Star Wars fan will like to visit the hotel once. This cool hotel is coming to Florida's Walt Disney for now.

Honor 9

Image
Huawei is making it's products quality oriented. Honor 9 is no exception. It's one the best quality smartphones you'll get in the price. Let's check the specifications first. Honor 9 Display:  5.15 inch LTPS IPS LCD Full HD display with 1080×1920 resolution (428 ppi). Processor: HiSilicon Kirin 960. RAM: 4/6 GB. Memory:  64/128 GB internal. Camera:  Dual rear cameras (20 MP & 12 MP) & 8 MP front camera. Battery:  3200  mAh. Price: Starting from ₹28999. Design: Honor 9 looks as the last year's Honor 8 but much refined. It sports 3D glass along it's edges and the glass finish shines to give the phone a shiny look. The fingerprint sensor changed the place from back to the front, integrated in the home button. But Huawei doesn't rushed to make the phone bezel less going according to the trend. Although a bezel less display really looks better, Honor 9 is pretty great in design even though it doesn't sports any bezel less display
