Huawei is making it's products quality oriented. Honor 9 is no exception. It's one the best quality smartphones you'll get in the price. Let's check the specifications first.

Design: Honor 9 looks as the last year's Honor 8 but much refined. It sports 3D glass along it's edges and the glass finish shines to give the phone a shiny look. The fingerprint sensor changed the place from back to the front, integrated in the home button. But Huawei doesn't rushed to make the phone bezel less going according to the trend. Although a bezel less display really looks better, Honor 9 is pretty great in design even though it doesn't sports any bezel less display. Overall, the phone is one of the best phones out there in terms of design.
Performance: The HiSilicon Kirin 960 is a quite good processor (It can be easily comparable with a high end Snapdragon processor). Along with 4/6 GB RAM it gives a fluid experience. But it's the EMUI 5.1 with makes the power-on speed 20% faster. On performance this phone will a decent one.
Camera: The main upgrade from Honor 8 to 9 is about camera. Huawei upgraded the dual camera module. There's a 20 MP monochrome sensor & a 12 MP RGB one. The 20 MP one takes pictures in incredibly high resolution & vivid details. The RGB one sets the colours. They can give you 2X zoom without any distortion. There is Live Photo Mode, Night Shot Mode, Synthetic Bokeh Portrait Mode & Light Painting Mode. Huawei promises that Honor 9 will shoot videos at 4K at the same quality but the file size will be half of the standard size. Pixel Binning Technology really takes better quality pictures at low light but it still needs improvements. The front one is good enough. You'll like the beauty mode sometimes. But it over beautifies sometimes.
Battery: The battery will stay 1.5 days of moderate use. Huawei claims that the battery will be long lasting. Offline music playback time is 78 h which is pretty good. You will get 9V2A Super Charge technology which charges the phone up-to 40% in just 30 min.
Special Features: For Honor 9, the special feature is the way sound can be heard through audio plugins. There is a Ultra-wide 3D Sound Field Technology. By which you will be able to hear sounds in three different modes: Near (through traditional headphones), Front (in a home theater) & Wide (at a concert hall). Grammy award winner sound engineer Rainer Mailler worked in tuning department for Honor 9 & Huawei also partnered with Monster to finely equalize the music through Huawei Purity Equalizer. In a word the sound experience in Honor 9 is outstanding.
