Huawei P30 Pro

Huawei is doing some serious efforts to make their phones stand out in the market. P30 Pro tells it again. It is a great phone and has probably the best camera in smartphone yet.

Display: 6.47 inch OLED display with 1080×2340 resolution (~398 ppi).
Chipset: HiSilicon Kirin 980 (7 nm) with a highest clock speed of 2.6 GHz.
Camera: 40 MP (f/1.6), 20 MP (f/2.2), 8 MP (f/3.4) and a Depth Camera on the rear and 32 MP front camera.
Battery: 4200 mAh.
Variants: 128/256/512 GB ROM with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB ROM with 6 GB RAM.

Display: The phone's display is good. It has a optical finger print sensor underneath which is quite fast compared to it's previous generation. (The optical finger print sensor has some flaws like they don't work well when your fingers are a little dirty, they shines really bright when reading your finger so it's really straining for your eyes in the dark.) There is a notch on the front as well.

Performance: The performance is flagship grade with the 7 nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset.

Camera: The phone is mainly a camera-centric phone with four cameras on the back. They named them differently.

  1. The 40 MP (f/1.6) is named as SUPERSPECTRUM. It uses RYB colour filter instead of RGB colour filter in the sensor which is innovative by Huawei. The image stack is redesigned as well to capture 40% more light. The result is P30 Pro can go high up to 4 times in ISO than it's previous version. The whole thing will result into some pretty great night mode shots.
  2. Next up is 20 MP (f/2.2) ULTRA WIDE CAMERA which can see more than 120°.
  3. The third one TIME OF FLIGHT CAMERA which is generally used for depth information.
  4. The last and the most exciting camera on P30 Pro is the 8 MP (f/3.4) PERISCOPE ZOOM LENS. They call it like that because the lens works like a periscope. It actually goes up inside the phone to zoom in and uses a mirror on the camera front. It results in 5X lossless zoom.

By the way, this was a short introduction to the camera. You will be astonished after seeing what these cameras can do.

Yes, the cameras can zoom upto incredible 50X which is first in the smartphone industry. The phone does it with AI enhanced optimizations. I don't know how people will use 50X zoom, (The quality becomes a bit low) but it's incredible to have such feature in your phone. The 10X zoom looked promising in P30 Pro and is far better than the competition from Apple iPhone XS or Samsung Galaxy S10+.
P30 is doing great in low light too. Look at this.

Battery: P30 Pro packs an impressive 4200 mAh battery with fast wired (40W) and wireless (15W) charging. It can reverse charge as well. So, you can use your phone as power bank to charge your friend's phone.

The phone is really looking great at least from the camera aspect. P30 Pro isn't launched in India yet. But it will launch soon.
