Hyundai's HRL & WEX

Hyundai is known for making reasonable quality cars in reasonable price. Now the company is trying to do the same in exoskeleton industry. Where other companies are investing on automatic driving cars, Hyundai is investing on exoskeleton industry (Quiet great step).

Hyundai introduced 2 new exoskeletons, HRL & WEX.

HRL: It's a exoskeleton designed for peoples with 64-71 inches long legs and having weight less than 250 pounds. There are 20 sensors which helps the body to move. The exoskeleton is consisted of 6 50:1 reduction gear actuators, 2 pelvic actuators rated at 224 pound feet of peak torque with 60° range of motion, 2 hip and knee with 112 lb-ft peak. The exoskeleton can walk at a default speed of 1.5 mph. This device will be very helpful for paraplegics. This can help the peoples suffering from spinal cord disease to walk again.

WEX: This exoskeleton will help peoples to lift weights. The exoskeleton is consisted of 1 single actuator with 56 lb-ft peak torque.

So, you can think human body crossing their limits by these exoskeleton. It's not fully as the 'Iron-Man' suit but it's the beginning, the beginning of human evolution.

You can get exoskeletons now, but the price is so high. But Hyundai trying to make the technology for all at reasonable price.

Hyundai is trying to get certification from US & South Korean government. If they get it, the devices will be in consumer production in 2018.
