Acer pulls out of India
Acer pulls out of the world's second largest smartphone market. But why?
1. Acer India's Managing Director Harish Kohli said that Indian market is more about price centric. Affordability surpassing functionality. For the government's make in India initiative larger brands like Samsung, Apple as well as Acer is finding it harder to compete in the market against brands like Huawei, Xiaomi. Because those big brands are not manufacturing phones in India, the price of those phones rising high.
2. For Acer it failed to take the advantage of unique tradition of Indian smartphone market, the Flash Sale, as Huawei, Xiaomi, Vivo and other successful brands are taking.
3. More over finally 4G is replacing 3G in India and for government's Digital India initiative, the youths of India is rushing towards smartphones. And that's why so many brands from all over the world are entering in this market, making competition so hard, specially the Chinese companies.
So, finally Acer decided to pull out of India.
