Redmi 6A

Xiaomi launched their new budget phone Redmi 6A in India. The phone seems to be very promising in a reasonable price. Let's go through the specifications first.

Display: 5.45 inch IPS LCD display with 720×1440 resolution (18:9).
Chip-set: Quad-core MediaTek® Helio© A22.
Variants: 16 GB ROM with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM with 3 GB RAM.
microSD Card Support: Supports up-to 256 GB.
Cameras: 13 MP (f/2.2) rear camera and 5 MP (f/2.2) front camera.
OS: MIUI 9.6 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo.
Battery: 3000 mAh.
Price: ₹5999.

Design: Design wise the phone is better than it's predecessor Redmi 5A. The sides are more curved now providing a better grip. The camera module has changed. The new module holds the lens along with the flash in a black pile shaped cabin. The speaker is on the back of the phone. And there's the new 18:9 display.

Display: The display got bigger. So, more intuitive experience on the go. You will be satisfied for your bucks.

Performance: The MediaTek® Helio© A22 processor is quiet powerful and energy efficient. You will have no problems with daily uses like surfing the web, watching YouTube videos and doing stuffs on social media. There is a bit lag while playing PUBG on the phone in recommended settings in the review of Gogi Tech. But in lower graphic settings the phone handles the game pretty well. Even the temperature only arise to 37 C which is quiet impressive.

Camera: The phone captures decent photos with the back camera as well as front camera in day light. But in low light the camera struggles, missing details. There is no portrait mode for the rear camera but there is a portrait mode on the front camera which is great at this price. The quality of the portraits are quite good with very good edge detection.

Battery: 3000 mAh battery with power efficient MediaTek® Helio© A22 SoC and well optimized MIUI 9.6 will give you a battery life of one day on average and even 1.5 days occasionally. But the charger is a bit slow with 1 A and takes 2 h 15 min to get fully charged from 2%.

Special Features:

1. There is triple slot in place of hybrid SIM slot in this phone. That means you can use 2 SIMs simultaneously along with a microSD card (I needed this the most). Besides the chip-set supports dual 4G standby. So, it's the first budget phone in India which supports 2 4G SIM card simultaneously.

2. There is Face Unlock feature which works well.

So, this is the नया देशका phone for India. Looking at the price you can always buy one for yourself. The phone will be on sale from 19 September, 2018 on amazon.in.
