Sony Xperia XZ2 & XZ2 Compact

Sony launched their new flagships at MWC 2018, Xperia XZ2 & XZ2 Compact. Let's go through the specifications first.

Design:

XZ2: Design wise there is a effective difference from the previous flagships of Sony. XZ2 sports glass on front and back protected by the Gorilla® Glass® 5 included in a metal frame. There is a reflective view when you look at the phone from outside. Sony named this as Ambient Flow inspired from water as it blends itself into it's surroundings. The phone is thick having a dimension of 11.1 mm (0.4"). Although it does not sports a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The phone is move curvy and feels like more ergonomic. But the phone is a fingerprint magnet.

XZ2 Compact: It has a plastic body and the fingerprint sensor is on the back.

Display: Sony adopted to 18:9 aspect ratio this year. The bezels are thin and the phone is narrower. The display supports High Dynamic Range (HDR). HDR videos can be experienced from Amazon and Netflix. The phone can upscale normal videos to HDR as well.

Performance: Both the phones sports the best processor till date for Android phones along with 4 GB of RAM. Performance will be so good as per expectations.

Camera:

Rear: The rear camera sports a lot of features. There is a f/2.3" Exmor RS™ for mobile memory-stacked sensor. That is multiple shots will be taken and stored into primary memory then the best shot will be selected. The phones can record slow motion videos at 960 fps in 1080p. XZ2s are the first phones doing this. Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9+ can record videos at 960 fps in 720p previously. XZ2s are the first in the world in an another field as well. They can record videos in 4K HDR. So, recorded videos will have much more colour and contrast along with great details. There is SteadyShot™ with intelligent Active Mode (5-axis OIS) as well to steady your shots. The ISO levels are 12800 for low-light photos & 4000 for low-light videos.

Front: The front camera has a 23 mm wide angle lens F2.2. The ISO levels are 1600 for low-light photos & 1000 for low-light videos. There is SteadyShot™ with intelligent Active Mode (5-axis OIS) as well to steady your shots.

Battery: XZ2 supports wireless charging. As per the capacities go the phones will give a decent battery life, one day of moderate uses.

Special features: There is a dual front facing stereo speaker which are 20% louder than the previous XZ1. There is a dynamic vibration system which is pretty unique. It can be explained as when there will be a action scene or something excitement happens while watching a movie or playing game, the phone will vibrate. The intensity of the vibration is also controllable.
