The perfect phone become more perfect. Samsung announced their next flagship Galaxy S9 and a larger version of it at MWC 2018. Let's go through the specifications first.

Battery: 3000 mAh.

Design: The design of S9 & S9+ is gorgeous. There is the same glass finish on front and back of the phone as S8. But the fingerprint sensor moved to a comfortable place. It was really so hard to find the fingeerprint sensor on S8. The curved edges became a little bit smaller to avoid accidental touches during playing games. The dimension of the phone also became a little bit smaller than S8 (combinedly 1.2 mm smaller top & bottom bezel).

Display: There is a small improvement in the display too. The brightness increased to 700 nits (hoping to be) from 600 nits of S8. This extra brightness will give a pleasurable view in outdoor sunlight. And this is a Super Amoled panel, colour will be the best you can ever expect from a smartphone, specially dark black. There is 3D Touch sensor but it works only on the home button.

Performance: Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9+ are the first phone to be powered by Snapdragon 845 processor which is the best processor till date. S9 will be sporting 4 GB RAM and S9+ will be sporting 6 GB of RAM. Performance wise the phones are expected to be buttery smooth. Most of the games should be running very smoothly.

Camera: As the tag line of the phones go: The Camera. Reimagined, S9 & S9+ sports a innovative camera that is the first in the world in terms of technology. You can compare this with a DSLR. There is two apertures in the camera which opens mechanically that light can fall on the sensor. For brighter scenes it will use the tight f/2.4 aperture and for low light scenes it will use the wide f/1.7 aperture allowing 28% more light to fall on the sensor. S9 & S9+ sports a multi-frame technology for image processing. There is a DRAM in the camera sensor which stores primary informations. It takes 12 shots in a split second. Then it devides it into 3 batches. Then best 3 photos are selected from each batch. Then the best photo is selected from these 3 photos. This thing overall reduces noise greatly. DRAM is also used in slow motion video recording. S9 & S9+ can record super slow motion video at 960 fps in 720p. This video can be saved as a GIF or your lockscreen wallpaper.

Battery: 3000 mAh battery will be enough to run the phone. But I think it's a little bit smaller so battery life will not be great.

Special Features:

Intelligent Scan: S9 & S9+ have both the Iris Scanner & Face Unlock. When you have to unlock your phone as you want it to be quick the Intelligent Scan will use Face Unlock to do this. On the other hand where security is the main concern there Iris Scanner will be used like Samsung Pay etc.

AR Emoji: Like the iPhone X you can share AR emojis to your friends with S9 & S9+. There is two options for these emojis: More real like or more cartton like. You can customize the colour of hair, skin tone, glasses & cloths of the emoji. But it can't pick up various facial expressions like the iPhone X.
